Sidewalk electrophotography portrait from last weekend. Love Alon’s choice of mask, which was admittedly deliberate :-) well done, sir.
Self-portrait made with #electrophotography on the porch yesterday. See highlights for more.
#blackouttuesday change must happen.
The many faces of isolation. I am blessed to have a partner I love during this crisis. I am fortunate are to have two jobs to lean into and work even harder. I am grateful I chose a healthier lifestyle prior to COVID-19 and continued it with eagerness. I am relieved that we’ve invested in a space that fits our current needs better than we could have anticipated. I am so happy that no one in my family has been touched by the virus. And I’m aware of much of the terrible, terrible things happening — but only as much as I can bear in one sitting. I’m also acutely aware Of the spirit o generosity and love with which some people are approaching the crisis, and I applaud them and support their efforts. . I made this self-portrait while listening in to @ruinism and @jcphotomedia on the @nationalparksatnight IG Live show this week. Wireless headphones kept me connected while I practiced art therapy upon myself. . How are you applying self-therapy? What helps? I want to hear.
Technically this is night photography. On two counts: 1) It was made at night 2) it was a four second exposure Still tweaking the variables (and there are many) but love the darkness in this one. Testing lighting with a @nanliteusa Forza 60 (bright!) and some PavoTubes. I’m delighted they work because normally this process responds well to full spectrum light rich with UV. To my knowledge and research, this isn’t a quality of LED lighting. (Yay for asking “what if?”). Also working on the mixture of toner transfer beads to toner. And how many passes of toner over the plate, too. You know me... I love process. And this is ideal for being shut-in during this COVID situation. Art on, my friends. Art onwards forever.
The inimitable @ripvanwagoner dropped by to hang. And sat as a subject as I fine-tune the electrophotography studio. And don my latest cut paper mask. ‘Twas a good night. See the story/highlight for all the collaborative art we made.
In honor of NYC’s new laws about plastic shopping bags, I made this photos last night. I see this trapped shopping bag when out on my evening walks. It’s likely from my local Trade Fair. I wonder what was in it when it came home. And then I imagined it escaped out of the sixth floor window, only to be snared by the tree.
Getting up close and personal with the @irixusa 150mm Macro in Death Valley.
#timelapse of #manhattan skyline shot during a very fun workshop with @photopills @jkhordi and @kahwailin on Saturday. Thanks, Rafael, for arranging this. I only brought a 20mm lens for BTS since I was teaching, so I made a vertical crop of what everyone else was making still photos of moonrise.
