The gains from stepping back 🌳
Apr 24, 2024 11:00 pm
Hey, ,
Last week, I shared with you my commitment to taking regular breaks for better mental health and productivity. This week, I'd like to share some of my reflections with you on what this time away is teaching me about myself and my work.
Building with Intention
I am learning to apply the same intentional planning to my work that I advocate for in the businesses of others. It's becoming clear that practicing what I preach not only benefits my clients but is essential for my own success as well.
Autonomy in Business
Taking time off doesn't require a large team; it requires clear communication and trust in oneself. This break has reinforced that even solopreneurs can and should step away occasionally without fear of everything falling apart.
Living My Values
By aligning my business practices with my personal values, I've started to attract clients who share these values. This synergy is empowering and is a core aspect of my ongoing projects, Wix Unlocked and Wix Joy, where I aim to build a community of like-minded individuals.
Reassessing Loss and Gain
Contrary to my past fears, I haven't lost clients, money, or focus by taking time off. Instead, the benefits have been immense. I feel more connected with my partner and family, more energized, and more engaged with every moment. My professional relationships are strengthening, and I'm enjoying a renewed perspective on my life.
Shared Breaks
This is the first extended break my family and I have taken together. Experiencing this together has been so positive that we are already planning to make it a regular practice.
Reflecting on this has reminded me of something I wrote a couple years ago about the benefits of taking breaks. Check it out if you haven't yet.
I am looking forward to sharing more insights and hearing about your experiences with rest and rejuvenation.
I encourage you to think about how you can integrate intentional breaks into your life.
What could you gain by stepping back occasionally? Reply via email or video/voice and let me know.
Enjoy,
