Day 1 | A Living Sacrifice

Apr 17, 2023 10:01 am

Scripture: So then, my friends, because of God's great mercy to us I appeal to you: Offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God dedicated to his service and pleasing to him. (Romans 12:1, GNT)

Reflection: As believers, we have been called to offer ourselves as living sacrifices to God. This means dedicating ourselves to His service and being pleasing to Him (remember: you can see dedication, and the results of dedication). This is the true worship that we should offer. It's more than just singing songs or raising our hands during worship services. It's the act of serving God daily with our lives.

Paul reminds us that we can only do this because of God's great mercy to us. It's not something we can earn or achieve on our own. It's only because of His grace that we have the ability to offer ourselves to Him.

So, what does it mean to be a living sacrifice? It means giving up our own desires and putting God's will first. It means dedicating our time, talents, and resources to His service. It means living our lives in a way that is pleasing to Him and brings Him glory.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for your great mercy and grace towards me. Please help me to offer myself as a living sacrifice to you, dedicated to your service and pleasing to you. Help me to prioritize your will in my life and to serve you with all that I have. Please give me the strength and courage to live my life in a way that is pleasing to you. I'm thankful that your love and guidance will be with me every step of the way. Amen.

Get into Action: Think of one area in your life where you can offer yourself as a living sacrifice to God. It could be volunteering at a local charity, serving at church, or simply being more intentional about loving and serving others in your daily life. Take action today to start making a difference in that area.
