The secret used by happily married couples

I have several married friends, and the state of their relationship is all over the board:

  • Some of them are married and doing well.

  • Some are talking about divorce.

  • Some are together, but wishing they were single.

  • Some are dealing with illness.

What this says to me is that marriage is not easy, not for the faint of heart, and not for people who see commitment as a temporary solution to getting what's desired.

I'm going to go on a limb and say that you're the type of person who knows marriage can be difficult, but you're committed to making yours work.

You know the struggle associated with a long-term marriage relationship, but have also tasted the sweetness of things working really well.

Pay attention because this next part is for you.

In a few days, I'm going to open enrollment for the Marriage Works! Vow Renewal Project.

Here's a quick snippet:

The Marriage Works! Vow Renewal Project is a series of four interactive sessions that will reintroduce the biblical principles of love, forgiveness, commitment and fun back into your relationship. During our time together you'll deepen your love and trust, strengthen your communication skills, get unstuck in your relationship, and set a vision for the future of your marriage. The project will close with a community-wide vow renewal ceremony that will inspire you towards a stronger, more loving marriage.

We've done vow renewal ceremonies at our live events, and they're always special. The room typically becomes a tissue wasteland from all the teary eyes -- men included. Since we cannot get together, we look forward to bringing the same joy and intimacy to you in your home.

I'll say more about the Vow Renewal Project in a few days.

For now, enjoy the rest of Day 1, 2021.

Kevin

ps - It's not too late to do the 2021 Marriage Reflection (click here). Completing it only takes a few minutes, and will bless your marriage.
