It has been several days since I've written, and I apologize for the delay.

I accepted a new job with a consulting firm named Dorrier Underwood a little over a week ago, and I've been incredibly busy tying up loose ends at my current job at the church so I can leave well.

In recent days I've thought about words Cetelia said to me after the job offer was official, "I'm proud of you."

While I don't consciously live to make my wife proud of me, I must say that it felt good to hear those words.

Telling someone you're proud of them goes beyond phrases like "good job" or "I like you" or "way to go."

When you tell someone you're proud, you're letting them know that their accomplishment or action has brought you a deep sense of pleasure and satisfaction. It's you letting them know that they've made you feel good inside.

I encourage you to actively look for things your spouse does that make you feel proud of him/her ... then express it. When we know we've done something to make someone else feel good, we're more likely to repeat it.
