Summary | Finishing What You Start

Dear ,

Finishing what we start is better than simply starting. Ecclesiastes 7:8 tells us that the end of a thing is better than its beginning. Despite this, many of us struggle to finish what we start. We may lose motivation, get overwhelmed by obstacles, have poor time choice management or fail to count the costs. To become finishers, we must show up and keep showing up to what we have been tasked or called to do.

Showing up means being present and committed to the task or project at hand. It helps us develop discipline and builds trust with others as we consistently complete what we have started. However, showing up is not always easy. We will face challenges that require perseverance. Nevertheless, pushing through these challenges can build resilience and help us grow as individuals.

Looking up to Jesus is also crucial to becoming a finisher. By fixing our eyes on Him, we can turn away from obstacles, self-pity and comparisons with others. Jesus is the founder and finisher of our faith, and He finished His course on earth despite enduring hostility from sinners. By considering what Jesus went through and aiming for the joy set before us, we too can overcome obstacles and become finishers.

Finishing what we start requires us to show up and keep showing up, to run our own race with endurance and to fix our eyes on Jesus. Remember that although it is easy to start something, it is the finishers who get the glory and make a difference for their organization.

See you tomorrow!

Kevin
