Eyes on God, Not Your Problem

O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you. | 2 Chronicles 20:12 (ESV)
Life can be tough, and sometimes we face overwhelming situations that leave us feeling powerless. It might be a big challenge, a tough enemy, or a situation that seems out of our control. But in those vulnerable moments, we can find comfort and strength by turning our attention to God.
In the Bible, there's a story about King Jehoshaphat and his people who were up against a huge army. They knew they couldn't handle it on their own, so they prayed to God for help. They said, "God, we can't do this alone. We don't know what to do, but our eyes are on You."
Their humble prayer showed that they trusted God's wisdom and power. Even though they didn't have all the answers, they chose to keep their eyes on Him. They knew that God is a compassionate Father who understood their struggles.
When we face tough challenges or opposition, we can learn from their example. Instead of letting fear overwhelm us, we can pray and give our burdens to God. We can be honest about feeling powerless and uncertain, knowing that God cares for us.
By fixing our attention on God, we shift our focus away from the problem and onto the solution. He promises to be our refuge and strength, always ready to help us when we're in trouble. When we seek His guidance, we invite Him to intervene on our behalf.
Fixing our eyes on God also gives us a heavenly perspective. Even if we don't have all the answers, we can trust that God is in control and has a plan for our lives. Through faith, we can find comfort in His promises, knowing that He will never abandon us. (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Prayer
Heavenly Father, in times of overwhelming circumstances, I find comfort in knowing that I can turn to You. Like King Jehoshaphat, I acknowledge my powerlessness before You, recognizing that I do not have all the answers. In humility, I lay my burdens at Your feet and fix my eyes on You, the Author and Finisher of my faith. Strengthen my heart to trust in Your sovereignty and unfailing love, knowing that You are my refuge and strength. In the face of challenges and opposition, help me gain a heavenly perspective and walk confidently in Your plan for my life. I declare that my eyes are on You, and I rely on Your wisdom and guidance. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
