Fish may appear to be foolish given the way they go after bait -- a lot of it fake.

But, they're not foolish.

They're impulsive.

We, on the other hand, are the ones who are foolish.

We see bait and impulsively go after it knowing it’s going to cause heartache in our lives.

If your spouse instigates an argument with you, don’t take the bait and argue back. If your spouse lies on or takes advantage of you, don't take the bait and retaliate. If your spouse breaks your heart, don’t take the bait of holding a grudge.

Colossians 3:5 (Amplified) commands us to "deaden our animal impulses and be wise." That includes in our marriage.

When your spouse does something to get you riled up, don't take the bait.
