Which one of these describes your marriage: latent, dormant, or dead?

Latent /ˈlātnt/

existing but not yet developed or manifest; hidden or concealed.

Dormant /ˈdôrmənt/

temporarily inactive or inoperative.

Dead /ded/

no longer alive.

Yes, there are times when a marriage is dead. But, I think that's rare.

Usually, a struggling marriage is temporarily inactive (often by one or both spouse's unwillingness to be active) or it's on the way to something great by overcoming a series of obstacles.

If you think your marriage is dead, consider that could simply be in sleep mode or in the process of becoming something great.

Like most things, how you think about your marriage -- and act in response -- will determine what happens next.
