New Course Open: How to Love When You Feel Like Leaving
Sep 22, 2022 12:51 pm
Last night I was reading the story of Gideon, the son of a farmer who ultimately led three hundred men to win a battle against an imposing army many times its size.
In the middle of the fight, Gideon’s men were described as “exhausted yet pursuing.”
That phrase made me think about spouses, maybe like you, who are pursuing a good marriage or the love of your mate or keeping your family together, yet you’re exhausted.
Maybe you’re wondering if the pursuit is worth the effort you’re expending or the exhaustion you’re experiencing.
I want to encourage you by telling you it is.
I don’t say this from some statistical perspective, although I could provide data to back up what I’m saying.
I say it from a personal perspective.
Yes, it’s exhausting to keep pursuing a working marriage. That exhaustion turns into exasperation when you feel like you’re the only one working on it.
So why keep pursuing?
Why keep praying?
Why keep hoping?
Why keep caring?
I’ll answer that by asking you to consider what’s at stake.
- What is the greatest joy that can be achieved and felt if your marriage works?
- How will a marriage that wins change the trajectory of your family?
- What generational curses will be broken if your marriage succeeds?
- What’s possible for you, your marriage, and your children if your marriage is strong?
Thousands of spouses have considered these questions, and found answers that made them say, “I’m exhausted, yet pursuing.”
How about you?
Are you exhausted yet pursuing?
If your answer is yes, I want you to know that I’m here to partner with you in your pursuit.
I’m here to encourage you, guide you, advise you, correct you, and coach you.
