Day 1 | You're loved to the end
Apr 03, 2023 10:01 am
Scripture: It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. (John 13:1)
Reflection: As we read John 13:1, we are reminded of Jesus' unwavering love for his disciples, even in the face of his impending departure from the world. He demonstrated his love by loving his disciples to the end, an act of selflessness that is a testament to his character and mission on earth. Jesus' love was not based on the disciples' performance or ability to earn his affection; rather, it was a pure and unconditional love that extended to all who were in the world, including us today. As we reflect on this passage, , we are invited to receive Jesus' love for us in a deeper way and to recognize that we are loved simply because he loves us, not because of anything we have done.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your unfailing love. I recognize that I do not deserve your love, yet you continue to pour it out on me. Help me to receive your love in a deeper way and to share it with those around me. May I live a life of love and sacrifice, just as you did. Thank you for loving me to the end. Strengthen me to love others as you have loved me. Amen.
Get into Action: Take time today to reflect on the ways in which Jesus has loved you to the end. Consider the sacrifices he made for you and the ways in which he has shown his love in your life. As you reflect on this, ask yourself how you can extend that same love to those around you.
