I didn't like what I sent this morning

The subject of today's devotion was: "Eyes on God, Not Your Problem."

It sounds good.

It'll encourage you.

It'll make for good preaching.

It's also unrealistic.

I thought about my own problems and said, "Really, Kevin? You're not going to look at your problem at all? How else do you plan to resolve it?"

Like I said, it's unrealistic.

What if, however, we saw our problems in our spiritual peripheral vision while our eyes were on God?

It would like something like this:

This is a popular location for tourists to take pictures in Wyoming. The barn is always photographed, but it's not the main attraction. After all, there are old barns like this all over America. The Grand Teton Mountain range in the background is the main attraction

What would be possible if we saw our problems (the barn) while we were looking at God's enormity, power, and grandness (the Teton Mountains)? It would put our problems in the proper perspective.

Perhaps this is a better subject line: Eyes on God, Problems Right-Sized.
