Day 5 | Knowing God's Will

Apr 21, 2023 10:01 am

Scripture: Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2, NIV)

Reflection: When we offer ourselves as living sacrifices to God and allow Him to transform us by renewing our minds, we become more aligned with God's will. This means that we start to think, speak, and act in a way that pleases Him. We are no longer conformed to the world and its ways, but we are transformed into a new creation in Christ.

But how can we know the will of God? It starts with spending time in prayer and reading His Word. As we do this, we begin to understand His character and the principles that guide His will. We also seek godly counsel from other believers who are further along in their faith journey. It's worth noting that the further we get away from praying, reading God's word, and seeking godly counsel; the further we'll also get away from knowing God's will. In other words, we rarely know God's will in isolation.

As we continue to walk in obedience and seek His will, we will start to see God's plan for our lives unfold. We will begin to see opportunities to serve others, to share our faith, and to bring glory to God in everything we do.

Prayer: Dear God, as I offer myself as a living sacrifice to You and allow You to transform me, help me to align myself with Your will. As I spend time in prayer and reading Your Word, guide me to understand Your character and the principles that guide Your will. Help me to seek godly counsel from other believers who can help me on my faith journey. As I continue to walk in obedience and seek Your will, show me opportunities to serve others, to share my faith, and to bring glory to You in everything I do. Amen.

Get into Action: Set aside time today to pray and read God's word. Seek God's will by asking Him for guidance and understanding as you spend time in prayer and study. As you read the Bible, ask yourself how you can apply the principles you're learning to your daily life. Take notes, reflect on what you're reading, and seek to understand God's character and the principles that guide His will. By doing this consistently, you'll be better equipped to discern God's will and align your life with His plan.
