Great News: God is not angry at you

In Romans 5:9 (ESV), the richness of hope found in Jesus' death unfolds in two profound aspects: freedom from God's wrath. The passage says, "Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God."
Let's grasp the incredible truth that through Jesus' death, we are liberated from the wrath we rightfully deserved. His sacrifice justifies us, and His blood covers our sins, bringing a profound freedom from the divine judgment that once loomed over us.
As I mentioned this past Sunday, Romans 6:23 declares that the wages of sin is death. It's essential to understand that this 'death' mentioned here isn't necessarily manifested as immediate consequences like a car accident, job loss, financial hardship, broken relationship, illness or any other hardship. These challenges could be natural consequences of sins OR may not be related to our sin at all, depending on the situation.
The punishment for sin is death, and in this verse death means "the death of the body with the implied idea of future misery in hell" (Strongs g2288), which is the spiritual, eternal consequence of sin.
It pleased God to bruise Jesus and put Him to grief to make Him an offering for our sin (Isaiah 53:10). Jesus took upon Himself this death for us and justified us by His blood, securing our salvation from God's righteous anger.
Amen for the freedom from God's wrath!
