I wanted to send a message to setup this week's Going Deeper devotions.

Before I get into those, however, I want to publicly thank Lawrence Price for preaching so ably and well the past two weeks. I forgot to mention that this morning, and I regret that. I watched both messages, and they made a difference in me and a close relationship.

Now, two things for this week:

1) I [also] forgot to mention that today's message was part two of why people leave and/or don't attend church. I preached part one on 9/23. If you recall, it was about people not attending church because they're disappointed with God. Part two of the message was today, and it centered around Christians having conflict with other Christians as a reason people leave and/or don't attend church.

2) Cetelia told me she thought today's message was "church heavy." I agree, and that is exactly what I had in mind. I committed to you in February to prepare you for your next pastor. Today's message was delivered from that commitment.

Trust me, your new pastor (and your Heavenly Father!) will be thrilled to see members disagreeing over personal preferences, and still walking together in a peaceful and reconciled way.

As you read this week's devotions, join me in asking God to examine your heart and show you yourself. May the Lord continue to mature you and me as we progress in our Christian journey.
