Is your marriage drifting?

Hi ,

Look at this boat.

I don't know who owns this vessel, but I can guarantee you that he/she didn't buy it thinking that one day it would have to be rescued.

If anything, the owner thought the boat could be used to rescue someone else who was having boat issues.

Just like drifting is normal on the water, it's normal in marriage relationships.

Can you relate?

Nearly anything can cause marriage drift; busyness, neglect, children, infidelity, or even trauma from other relationships.

To do something about drift, you have to acknowledge its presence (note: it's much easier to cover it up and say, "We're okay. It's just a season we're in.")

Fieldwork:

Take a look at your marriage. Where can you see it beginning to drift?

Hint: the best places to look are where you're in denial, justifying your actions, declaring you're right, or blaming your spouse.
