Jesus, the perfect sacrifice, shed his blood to atone for our sins. He took our place, and once-and-for-all sanctified and purified us. We now have access to God.

In Leviticus 16:30, we see the Lord's stance on sanctification and purity (note: sanctification is a theological concept that refers to the process of becoming holy, set apart, and transformed in character and conduct.)

The Day of Atonement was a sacred occasion when the people and the sanctuary were cleansed and sanctified. Through the rituals and offerings, God provided a way for the people to be set apart, consecrated, and made holy in His presence.

In Hebrews 9:14, 10:10 and 14, we see the fulfillment of this ancient concept in Jesus Christ. Through His sacrificial death on the cross, believers are cleansed from sin and sanctified. His sacrifice provides the means for us to have a restored relationship with God and to live a life of holiness.

As we embrace Jesus' sacrifice, we are washed clean from the stain of sin. We become set apart, consecrated for God's purposes, and enabled to walk in holiness. Sanctification is an ongoing process, guided by the Holy Spirit, shaping our character to reflect Christ's likeness.

God's desire for us is to be a holy and sanctified people. Through Jesus, we have the power to overcome sin and to live lives marked by purity and righteousness. As we yield to the transforming work of the Holy Spirit, our thoughts, words, and actions align with God's will.

The call to holiness is not one of perfection but of surrender and obedience to God's leading. May we continually seek His sanctifying work in our lives, allowing His grace and love to purify us and draw us closer to Him.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of sanctification and purity through Jesus' sacrifice. I am grateful that His death on the cross cleanses me from sin and enables me to live a life set apart for You. Help me to embrace the process of sanctification, allowing the Holy Spirit to mold me into Christ's likeness. May I walk in holiness, reflecting Your love and grace to those around me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Reflection Questions:

1. How does Jesus' sacrifice enable you to pursue holiness and sanctification in your daily life?

2. In what ways can you cooperate with the Holy Spirit's work of sanctification in your heart and mind?

3. How can you live out your faith as a set-apart and sanctified person, reflecting God's love and purity to others?
