Your Spiritual Identity

Hi, . This week's devotions are based on Reverend Cooper's message and notes from yesterday as I experienced it. Have a great week! / Kevin

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

In this powerful verse, Jesus paints a clear contrast between the objectives of our adversary and His own intentions for us. The "thief", representing the evil one, relentlessly aims to rob us of our God-given spiritual identity, that which God has ordained for us.

Why?

Because within that identity lies our purpose, our power, and our connection to God. The enemy knows that if he can cause doubt, confusion, or forgetfulness about who we truly are in Christ, he can derail us from the path God has set. When our identity is stolen, our progress is slowed.

But the good news? Jesus reminds us that He came so we could reclaim and fully embrace that identity. Through Him, we're not just offered life but a life lived to its fullest potential—a life where we walk confidently, knowing we're children of God with a divine purpose.

Prayer:

Lord, I thank You for the life and abundance You promise through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Protect my spiritual identity from the schemes of the enemy. Strengthen me, so I can stand firm in the truth of who You say I am. May I always find my worth and purpose in You alone. Amen.

Reflection Questions:

1. In what areas of your life do you feel your spiritual identity is being challenged or stolen?

2. How can you actively guard your spiritual identity against the tricks of the enemy?

3. What steps will you take today to lean into the fullness of life that Jesus offers?
