Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. / Hebrews 12:2 (NIV)

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

Look full in His wonderful face,

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,

In the light of His glory and grace.

Life often presents us with challenges and difficulties that can weigh us down, making it hard to see beyond our current circumstances. It is during these times that we need to turn our eyes upon Jesus, the One who offers hope, strength, and comfort in the midst of our struggles. The chorus of the hymn "Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus" reminds us of the transformative power of fixing our gaze upon Him.

When we turn our eyes upon Jesus, we are invited to look full into His wonderful face. In doing so, we shift our focus from the problems and worries that surround us, and instead, we behold the beauty, majesty, and love of our Savior. It is in His presence that we find solace, encouragement, and renewed hope.

The chorus goes on to say that as we fix our gaze upon Jesus, the things of earth will grow strangely dim. The worries, anxieties, and challenges that once consumed our attention begin to lose their grip on us. They no longer hold the same power over our hearts and minds because we have shifted our focus to the One who is greater than any obstacle we face.

In the light of His glory and grace, we are able to gain a fresh perspective. His glory illuminates our path, showing us the way forward even in the darkest of times. His grace reminds us that we are not alone and that He is with us, offering comfort and strength in our weakness.

When we turn our eyes upon Jesus, we are reminded of His unwavering love and faithfulness. We remember that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that His promises never fail. He is the anchor that holds us steady when the storms of life rage around us.

Turning our eyes upon Jesus doesn't mean that our problems magically disappear or that life becomes free of challenges. Rather, it is a deliberate choice to shift our perspective, to seek His face, and to trust in His provision and guidance. It is an act of surrendering our burdens to Him, knowing that He is able to carry them and work all things together for our good.

So, dear friend, in whatever circumstances you find yourself today, I encourage you to turn your eyes upon Jesus. Fix your gaze upon Him, and allow His presence to fill your heart and mind. As you do, you will experience His peace that surpasses all understanding, and you will find the strength and courage to face whatever lies ahead.

May the words of this hymn's chorus serve as a constant reminder to turn our eyes upon Jesus, for in Him, we find hope, healing, and the transformation of our lives.
