Embracing the Promise & Power of Resurrection

In Romans 5:10 (AMPC), Paul tells us about the hope we get from Jesus coming back to life. This hope means we win over both sin and death. The verse says, "For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, it is much more [certain], now that we are reconciled, that we shall be saved (daily delivered from sin’s dominion) through His [resurrection] life."

Think about how big this is. We're not just friends with God because of Jesus' death, but His coming back to life means we keep getting saved from sin. It's like saying, "Hey, sin, you don't control us anymore!"

Also, in 1 Corinthians 15:17-19, Paul talks about how important Jesus coming back to life is for our faith. He says, "And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in Christ we have hope[a] in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied."

The victory over sin and death is inseparable from the reality of Jesus' resurrection. Our faith is strong because of this - we're sure that sin's power is gone, and death can't hold us down anymore..

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I am grateful for the hope anchored in Jesus' resurrection—a hope that secures victory over sin and death. Thank You for the reconciliation achieved through His death and the ongoing deliverance promised by His resurrection life. May this triumphant reality resonate in my heart, shaping my daily walk with You. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Reflection

1. How does the assurance of ongoing deliverance from sin's dominion through Jesus' resurrection impact your daily choices and actions?

2. How does the promise of resurrection influence the way you live your life today?

3. How does the promise of resurrection impact how you grieve your loved ones in Christ who have passed on?
