You're a human, not a robot.

A person, not a machine.

Although you may have some well-worn grooves in your brain that cause you to operate in an automatic and almost-robotic way, you retain the ability to break up the automaticity and choose.

That includes the ability to choose words, actions, and attitudes that will make your marriage work.

Maybe you're saying, "It's a habit now" or "My willpower is weak" or "I'm helpless to help myself."

I get that.

At the same time, I want to remind you of your humanity. AND, if you're a follower of Christ, you have supernatural power that comes from being united with Christ.

You can do so much more than you think you can, if you choose to, then act on it over and over and over -- with God's help.
