Our anniversary was horrible. Open for details.

Last week I sent you an email announcing that it was Cetelia's and my 20th wedding anniversary.

The two of us got out of town for a brief trip, and the entire experience was miserable for both of us.

For starters, we didn't talk on our anniversary besides forced pleasantries. I'll take the blame for that. I didn't have much to say, so I didn't talk. Cetelia doesn't talk much anyway, and gets super quiet if I'm not talking. So, there's that.

To make things worse, there was no intimacy of any kind on the night we celebrated twenty years of marriage. No hand holding, warm words, nor hugging. Not even a goodnight kiss.

But wait, it gets worse...

When we did finally start talking the next day, every conversation ended in an argument. Every conversation. It was pathetic.

This continued until around 3:30 PM when I got a call from my son letting me know he had gotten rear ended in my car. He's recovering. The car is totaled.

Yay.

What a dismal 40 hours! It was a microcosm of what 2020 has been.

While I wish I could have my anniversary back and make some changes, the experience reminded me of a truth I didn't know when I was younger: marriage can be messy.

No one gets married with the expectation that they're going to have a terrible marriage. Otherwise, folks wouldn't bother getting married at all.

Although common sense informs us that we're going to have troubles in our marriage, very few of us actively anticipate facing those troubles. Therefore, when we experience them, we can be knocked for a loop.

I've been reading Matthew 7, and it clearly shows "messes" that show up in every marriage. I'd like to share them with you in a webinar I'm hosing next Tuesday, 7/28 @ 1 PM CDT.

The webinar is called Blessed Marriage. Messy Marriage., and I GUARANTEE it will help you anticipate confrontations, disagreements, arguments, and headaches in you marriage, then show you practical and Christ-centered ways to handle them so your marriage feels more blessed than messy.

Like all our webinars, you can pay what you want to attend.

Can't make the live webinar? No worries ... there will be replays next Wed through Friday.

This may be one fo the most important webinars we've conducted, and like I said, I guarantee it will help you -- or double your money back.
