A fun fact about this newsletter is that I write it on Fridays, and Fridays are leg/butt day in the gym. That means I'm SUPER JACKED UP when I write.

I don't lift super heavy, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't work out more for aesthetics than athletics. But even so, I like leg/butt day.

Like, a lot.

I've always preferred lifting to any kind of cardio, and I've been lifting since the eighth grade. Though, admittedly, I was waaaaay stronger back in the day when my joints were supple and my limbs lithe. Now I sometimes injure myself by sleeping the wrong way.

Which is always humbling.

But lifting is fun and gives me about 30-45 minutes each day when I can feel powerful. Because the rest of the day is me feeling like an idiot for losing my car keys or burning my grilled cheese sandwiches. Everyone needs something that makes them feel powerful.

Makes me feel like Luisa.

But seriously, I will not rest until I can hoist donkeys the way she does. Or if no donkeys are available, I'll settle for hoisting very large dogs.
