How do you plan the perfect day? 🗓
Oct 22, 2022 12:01 pm
By the time this hits your inbox, I'll still be asleep. At least, that's the plan. I would like to sleep in, but I also know that my brain is rarin' to go by 5:15 every morning. It's more likely that I'll be awake, but trying my damnedest to go back to sleep.
After I stop pretending I can sleep in, it's time to mask up and hit the used bookstore. To me, used bookstores are the best bookstores, and I love snatching up books with little notes scrawled in the margins, or passages highlighted.
From there, it's off to a local metaphysical store. The owners are moving to New Mexico, so they're having a closing sale, and the tarot decks are currently marked down. Please pray that I don't see the display of decks on sale, go into a fugue state, and spend every dollar I have.
Then it's back home for some Mexican food and cake.
(Did I mention this Saturday plan comes after my super cool plan for Friday, where I ate biscuits with my mom and went shopping for one of those pumpkin-shaped Dutch ovens that are all over Instagram?)
All of this is because today, October 22, is my birthday. (I'm a last day of Libra season Libra.) And while birthdays now look a lot different than they did 15 years ago, I'm quite glad about that. Because I'm now officially alcohol gives me heartburn years old, and I really don't think I could handle doing shots anymore.
Are used books and pumpkin-shaped Dutch ovens the coolest way to celebrate a birthday? I think so.
