First, I want to say that yesterday was rough. We knew Roe v. Wade would be overturned. We knew three Supreme Court Justices would lie under oath, stating that Roe v. Wade was precedent, then overturn it any way.

It's still awful, and it's going to kill a lot of women.

I know I don't talk too much about actual issues, but honestly, choosing to not be political is the most political thing a person could do. It's a very "let them eat cake" way to approach the world, and I'm not about that.

If you'd like to know more about where I stand, you can read that here.

If you are an adult who can legally vote in the United States but aren't registered, you can do that here.

I encourage everyone to contact their representatives and find organizations in your area that are doing the work of securing safe abortion care for those who need it. You can find some organizations here.

If you live in a state like I do where abortions, even to save the life of the mother, have been banned, I want to encourage you to stop using any period tracking or fertility apps. You can be easily identified through all the data on your phone. All apps are always surveilling you, and there will be organizations that pay for that data to find you. If they believe you sought abortion care based on your data, they may come after you. And if that sounds crazy, make sure you don't live in a state where citizens are deputized to enforce abortion bans.

And if you need an abortion, but live in a state where it's not legal, consider using a VPN and do not allow cookies when you're doing some research to see your options.

If you are going to attend a rally this weekend, don't take your phone, cover anything that could identify you like tattoos, go in large groups, make sure to mask up because covid is still a thing, and know that cops will try to start some shit. Don't play their game.

The only difference between Pre-Roe v. Wade American and Post-Roe v. Wade America is that now you're constantly under digital surveillance.

This isn't over, and there are organizations out there to help, as well as activists and legal professionals working around the clock. I know it's hard to stay hopeful when it feels like the world is ending every other day. But hope is scrappy, even when it's backed into a corner.

Now, before we get into the tarot reading, I want to thank everyone who preordered A Series of Unfortunate Meet Cutes and everyone who has snagged a copy since its release on Monday.

The paperback is now available for those who prefer a hard copy. It is a thicc, chonky gorl, coming in at 818 pages to accommodate the 9 novellas.

Get a copy!

I know the paperback price tag may seem a little steep, but with paper supply chain shortages, this is basically the cost of books in the world we live in these days. And I'm not saying that like a corporate executive who blames inflation as they actively price gouge. I'm saying that as someone who was part of a decision making process wherein 9 authors had a chat, saw the cost of printing the paperback, rounded up the cost to the next dollar, and decided that splitting $0.40 royalties between 9 people per copy was a viable option.

I'm sharing that in the interest of transparency, and as a reader who often scoffs at the price of print books. Also, if you're noticing a price increase on books, the paper supply chain is the likely culprit.

Now, let's talk tarot.

The summer solstice was this past week, and we've got some political work to do. How's that for the theme of the spread? Without further ado, here's your tarot reading, gang.
