3 Things I'm Grateful For Right Now π§Έ

There's a lot going on in the world right now. I don't know what to say about it. And I'm not the protagonist in any of the stories that are relevant right now.
It's not hard for me to feel helpless or like I don't matter. And sometimes it's comforting to think about how little I do matter. I mean, we all matter. But the sun will rise and set just the same with or without me.
When I get into this weird sort of mood (this time it's been brought on by war, legislation that will probably kill children, and the thick slab of ice outside my front and back doors), I have to take a minute to be mindful of what I'm grateful for.
I know it's cheesy. And I want to say that thinking about what you're grateful for can only do so much. It's not a way to rewire your brain, and it's pretty ableist when people say joy and gratitude are something you can just choose.
Some people can. Only some.
But I have found that taking a moment to appreciate the things I love is a good way to kindle that Samwise Gamgee "there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it's worth fighting for" energy.
So, with all that, here are 3 things I'm grateful for:
That πNewπ Project Energy
I started a new novel project this week. I'd been in full-on outlining mode for about the past month, simply because it's part of a series, and there are a lot of moving pieces. Also, I had to draw a map before I could figure out where characters were going through the story. As of writing this newsletter (Thursday evening), I have 16,000 words. Oh, and I may be doing some set up for a new blog project too. SO MANY TASTY NEW PROJECTS.
Banana Bread and Potato Soup
We had a lot of cold weather this past week. On Wednesday, it sleeted for several hours, and the sky was the bleakest of grays. But I made banana bread and potato soup, two of my favorite comfort food recipes. The banana bread was good, but the soup was better.
The Friends of The Library Book Sale
This weekend, I'll be heading to my local Friends of the Library Book Sale. It happens twice a year, and it's how the library gets rid of old books, or deals with all the unsolicited donations well-meaning folks drop off. Every time I go, I get tons of good stuff. This year, I'll be going through the romance novels, cookbooks, and anything on herbalism or the occult.
Gratitude? More like RAD-itude, am I right???!
On The Blog
So, your girl is now posting 3 times a week for the foreseeable future. This is another blog project, but not the one mentioned earlier. I'm doing the most as an experiment...
