It's been a minor arcana 4 sort of week...

Anyone else feel like their capacity to do anything is completely shot?

(I'll be talking about how I combat this next week during Productivity and Planning Week, and you should definitely sign up if you haven't yet!)

I feel simultaneously inspired and burnt out, and it's the weirdest thing. I've been writing steadily, and also working on some deadlines. My sleep has been off, but my workouts have been great. I've been a short fuse burning, ready to be mad at anything. But I also don't have the energy for anger right now.

This is why I feel like the fours in the minor arcana.

The four of swords calls for rest and relaxation. It's time to meditate and let your mind recharge. There have been too many things to juggle mentally, and it's time for a break.

image

The four of cups calls for some emotional contemplation. If you're already full or can't handle more, quit offering to take more on. And if you still want to take more on, re-evaluate what you're already carrying.

The four of pentacles is a card that makes us think about what we're saving for. Our resources (money, time, energy, food, emotional capacity) don't come cheap, and we can't just give them away. We have to take control of those and budget them.

The four of wands is a card for celebrating what you have with those you love most. It's a reminder to celebrate all the shit you worked so hard for, because you're going to keep working, and it's going to wear you down some more before everything is said and done.

Did any of these cards personally call you out just know? Or are you like me and just got sucker punched by all four?

I'll be taking some time this weekend to get some more sleep and burrow further into my home than normal. I will recharge with a good book (I'm currently reading A Night to Surrender by Tessa Dare and loving it) and probably some time in front of the TV. I'm currently watching Lucifer on Netflix, and I'm surprised by how much I enjoy it.

So, take this newsletter as your sign that it's time to rest and recharge and celebrate your recent wins, because there's more work to be done. And if you can, spend some time figuring out how you're going to budget your energy next week.
