It's the most wonderful time of the year.

Not the holidays. Honestly, I don't care much for the holidays, and if you've been following me for any length of time, you know that I endure the holidays with as much grace as a cranky toddler who missed nap time.

The most wonderful time of the year is the season where Mazzio's, a fair-to-middling pizza chain in my neck of the woods, serves their Pepperollies. What are these heinous culinary abominations? Why, they are basically everything you associate with pizza (crust, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni) but made used cinnamon roll technology.

I'm saying that they have a long strip of dough, they put sauce, cheese, and pepperonis on it, and then they roll it like a cinnamon roll.

This is a food I associate with elementary school birthday parties, getting drunk in college, and watching incredibly stupid action movies under the influence of jazz cabbage.

For whatever reason, Mazzio's doesn't sell these crimes against Italy all year round. So we must wait until the holiday season to partake. Please know that I coerced Chris into eating these for date night last night.

What was the momentous occasion that necessitated the consumption of such pizza-esque atrocities?

Your girl got to dive into a novel project that will be part of a boxed set this coming summer. I'm pretty excited for you to meet Jo Bonneville, the witch of Kitchen Lake and bartender extraordinaire.

Oh, and I had a real breakthrough with my tarot series, and I've finally figured out exactly what I need to do with it.

So, plenty o' books coming at you next year, but until then, know that I'm eating Tums like they're candy because I'm too old to be eating Pepperollies, gang.
