🌎 Perfection Doesn't Exist
Aug 14, 2020 2:26 am
Hey friend,
I've been without power for 11 days. The first half was by choice, I was at sea for 5 days, the second half was because of a tropical storm, whose name I still cannot pronounce. It's why there wasn't any email or new articles published last week. Nevertheless, the power is back, coffee is brewing, and I have a bunch of great things to share.
What I'm Writing
Perfection Doesn't Exist — don't let the mirage of "perfect" stop you from doing great work.
The Cost of Worry — I deleted social media in May and it has changed everything.
What I'm Reading/Listening to
Posing for selfies — Seth Godin is one of the most important business writers on the planet, a philosopher-king of sorts. You cannot finish a piece without taking notes. His best book is Tribes: We Need You To Lead Us.
David Yarrow on Art, Markets, Business, and Combining It All — I've known about Yarrow's photography work for years, but his story is incredible. From financier to successful artist, his journey is powerful. Below is a photo during the Sudanese civil war titled Mankind...just look at it for a few minutes.
What I'm Enjoying
I just unwrapped a new notebook from Baron Fig, I own over 40. I journal everyday in one. If you want to know why I recommend reading: What I Learned from Journaling Every Day for a Year.
I hope you have a great week, reply to this email if you have any questions. ✌️
Talk soon,
