Writing Updates and Cranky Cats

5 animals = another vet visit ...

Hi ,

I hope you're enjoying a relaxing weekend with people you love.

Life has felt super busy lately, though I've only been to the vet once since my last newsletter. This time it was Atticus who needed a check up because he was doing massive wet sneezes all over the house. Thanks to antibiotics he's recovered now and looking far less cranky than this picture.

I've also been trying to increase my pace for drafting book 2 of my YA Urban Fantasy project, but I write with the pace of a snail lately. The issue is mostly due to my need for a perfect first draft, so if you have any suggestions for how to get words flowing I'm all ears.

I've also recently been sending queries to publishers for my YA Urban Fantasy Book 1. I'm hopeful something will stick, but I don't count on it. Writing and publishing Nakoma and the Prince taught me so much and I feel confident enough to self-publish again if nothing works out.

That said, if you know anyone interested in publishing a trilogy about mythical creatures in Australia for YA readers then please send their details my way.

Warning: If Mother's Day is difficult for you, please opt out of this email now and don't keep reading.

Here in Australia, Mother's Day is tomorrow and there are so many different types of Mums and motherly figures that should be celebrated. If you have helped raise a person in any capacity I hope you feel cherished and appreciated. A good Mum makes a huge difference in a person's life.

To celebrate Mother's Day this year, I have partnered with other clean romantasy authors to bring you books you can safely read around your children. All books only require an email to download and are available to anyone until the end of May 💗

Treat Yourself!

If you made it this far, thank you for reading my email. If you're my Mum, Happy Mothers Day 🩷
