When you realize you’ve been waiting for someone to rescue you.

Hi ,
A few weeks ago, I woke up early — before the sun, before the noise, before everyone else.
The house was finally quiet.
The first time in weeks I had a moment truly to myself.
The golden light was just starting to peek through the windows.
I made a cup of tea. I had all these plans — I was going to journal, meditate, finally catch up with myself.
But before I could even pick up my pen, it hit me.
Not a pretty tear gliding down my cheek.
No — an ugly cry. The kind that catches in your throat and wracks your whole body.
The kind of crying where you can barely breathe.
Somewhere deep inside, a voice broke through the silence:
"Who is coming to help me?
Who is going to save me?"
That’s how I celebrated my birthday this year — not with a grand adventure or a big party.
But with a moment of stunning honesty:
I felt completely, utterly lost.
Somewhere between caring for my autistic teen, helping my husband recover from his back injury, and trying to hold everything together...
I had lost myself.
Not all at once.
Little by little.
Tiny sacrifices adding up until I didn’t even recognize the woman staring back at me.
Maybe you know that feeling too.
The slow fade of your own needs.
The loneliness that lives underneath being "the strong one."
If you do, I want you to know:
You are not alone.
And you don’t have to rescue yourself empty-handed.
