How to Start and End Your Day Feeling Good

Hellooooo Mama!

Have you been following my Instagram posts this week, which looked ways to start and end the day well? Click here and hit follow to be sure you don't miss anything!

Do you wake up each morning ready to bounce out of bed? Or are you reaching to hit snooze on your alarm five times in a row?

Starting (and ending) your day with a positive mindset can really help the flow of your day and set the tone for the way you move through it. I'm going to share with you the things that I try and do each day to support myself.

Some of my morning/evening rituals are connected, but I'll start with my morning one. As soon as I feel myself waking in the morning, I keep my eyes closed and ask myself the following question: what brings me deep joy, gratitude and contentment? And then I think of three things that fit in with this. I'm not talking massive, OTT stuff, just every day gifts. Here are some examples...

"I LOVE my pillow. I am so glad that I scored this pillow when I bought that dresser years ago. This pillow is the BEST!! It fits the groove of my neck perfectly, I can flip it for back sleeping or side sleeping, this pillow is amaaaaazing!"

"I love waking up to the sound of birds calling. How beautiful to hear them chittering and chattering away as the morning dawns. I am so lucky to live here, where birds feel safe and happy living side by side with us. It's such a lovely way to start the morning, already connected with nature."

"Oooooh, the beach is the best. I love hanging out the beach, walking along and feeling the sand against my feet, sliding through the shallows and having the water glide over them. I even love the SMELL of the beach, that briny tang in the air, ooooh, and that salty taste you get in your mouth at the beach. Not to mention watching and listening to the waves rolling in is super relaxing."

All of this happens in my mind in less than five minutes, but it really sets you up for a better day, having started by thinking about and truly diving into some simple things that bring you deep joy and contentment.

At the end of the day, just as I am heading to bed, I do a super quick journaling moment where I quickly note down things that I did for myself that day. I note things that I did to support and nourish my body, my relationships, my environs, MYSELF and something I did to further my business dreams. Just before I fall asleep, I think about three things I am grateful for that occured during the day and I say to myself:

"I set my intention to wake in appreciation."

This intention completes the circle and begins the circle for waking in gratitude the following morning (as described at the beginning of today's email).

I hope this helps you set up supportive practises for yourself morning and evening. Feel free to reply to this email if you have ANY questions!

Chat next week!
