Why attention addiction hides deeper wounds

The more you need to be seen, the less you see yourself.
Screaming paradox within the need for anything.
There are fundamental facts - plants need sun, water. Same for humans. Then there are psychological distortions.
The need to be seen is a desire for attention.
If you chase butterflies, they run away. You have to approach from a different level of consciousness: put flowers in the garden that butterflies are fundamentally attracted to.
Very different from wishing, hoping, desiring butterflies. You understand there is action that has a context of harmony.
When you're wanting to be seen, you radiate a vibration which is needy.
It's not the message, but how the message is delivered.
If you need me to do something for you, it's about the energy in which you communicate, not the details of the favor you're asking.
The need to be seen is an expectation that you can control others. Operating from weakness.
The intelligence is holistic capacity - rather than "I want butterflies," seek to understand the butterfly.
If you can look at what part of yourself wants to be seen, inquire, question, bring skepticism into why or what's creating this want to be seen, you'll get layers unraveled.
The psychology of a human being starts from ages zero to seven. This need to be seen comes in many forms - insecurity, shyness.
If you can question why you're operating how you're operating, unraveling and observing the relationship of your past experiences, you'll be clear about where the root was derived from initially.
The process of getting to the root can be rigorous.
We need scientific precision - not analyzing, but observing.
Analysis comes to conclusions and creates judgments. Discernment is courageous and open-minded where your inner child is invited to show itself.
Your subconscious mind is no longer hidden beneath layers because you're bringing conscious awareness into the map.
Like an underground subway - it's a spider's web. When you look at nature, the roots of trees are connecting more than you can see on the surface.
A human being is a seed of intelligence - the same intelligence which created the entire planet and cosmos. You can understand yourself by looking at nature.
When you stick a shovel into dirt, worms come up. But if you didn't stick the shovel in, are the worms still there? Obviously yes.
Same thing goes for everything you think yourself to be. The identities you hold, beliefs you perpetuate, things that create your perspective of reality.
The game as a human being is to see yourself and understand the truth of what you are.
You're gonna have to go through a lot of layers.
External validation distorts your vision.
If everyone in your external world is confirming something to you, if time and again you see there's a problem and you are the common denominator...
If you have a problem in all your relationships, in certain areas of life, if there's a similar problem in your career, family life, and psyche - can we look at it?
Can we drop the need for others to understand us so that we can understand ourselves?
You begin to live from a place which isn't true. Letting the false guide you. A lot of humans are just as confused and distorted as you may be.
You don't know how little or how much internal understanding another being has unless you really have it. The only way you can understand that in another is first seeing it in yourself.
Attention addiction hides deeper wounds.
The only way to understand your deeper wounds is to place attention on oneself. That's the hardest thing to do - look at ourselves, ask the real nitty-gritty questions that unveil the stem, then the root.
If you have a certain attitude, that's the blossom or dead leaf. But it still needs questioning to get to the branch, stem, root.
If you're addicted to placing attention on distraction, gossip, judgment of yourself, all the things you can distract yourself with - you won't look at the roots of why you see the world the way you see it.
You won't look at the relationship between your actions and your states of being. If you don't get clear on the micro relations of what you are as a human being, how would you ever get clear on the macro?
What to do when you feel unseen:
Feeling unseen is probably a distorted fruit of a broken place inside you. You don't need to feel seen. You need to create awareness of why you don't feel seen.
You cannot control other people. If someone hasn't done the work to truly listen to you compassionately, you're not doing the work by reacting or judging them for not being what you need.
The tough part of life is realizing no one will ever be exactly what you need. So you need to be what you need for yourself.
If you're operating from that clarity for yourself, then you can share it with the world. When you share it, you'll find that people ready to learn and listen to themselves will show up in your life.
It won't always be easy. Life would be stale if everything was easy.
