Muscling through the turns
Apr 16, 2026 10:01 am
I went skiing for the first time.
It was incredibly annoying.
Other skiers made it look effortless.
I wanted to glide down the mountain just like them.
But I was trying to muscle the skis through every turn.
Rotating my hips and twisting my knees.
Pushing the tails out to force the direction.
It was pure survival skiing.
Then I learned the actual movement.
The edge change.
Tipping the feet and ankles from one edge to the other.
Just tip the little toe edge down the hill to start the turn.
The skis are shaped to do the rest.
I stopped forcing the turn and started releasing into it.
The movement became effortless.
My mind and body finally worked in harmony.
It felt natural and energizing.
I will be a decent skier soon.
Not because of natural talent.
Because I found the movements required.
It reminded me of my early days in the gym.
Grinding through heavy lifts with poor form.
Overtraining every single week.
Relying on sheer effort instead of proper technique.
I thought I had to force the muscle to grow.
It felt like a constant battle against the weights.
I assumed a good workout required complete exhaustion and leaving the gym drained was my only metric for success.
Then I stopped muscling through it.
I focused entirely on the core movements and stripped away the unnecessary exercises that were burning me out.
I let spirit aligned effort do the work.
The physical transformation was almost immediate.
Wider shoulders.
A leaner waist.
The V taper finally showed up.
Progress comes when you stop forcing and start executing the right mechanics.
I put these core movements into a short book called “The 161 Ratio: 90 Days To Greek God Proportions Discipline and Presence” specifically for overcoming the skinny fat phase.
It outlines the mechanics that build the right proportions without the endless grinding.
The book and the audio version is $14.
When you pick it up you will also see an option to add the movement series.
These are 10 exercise videos showing the form for the fundamentals.
So you can learn the mechanics and move forward without second guessing your execution.
I am leaving this open for 24 more hours. And then it goes away.
If you want to stop muscling through your workouts and get back to what works.
You can get the book right here:
