The expensive coat rack

My neighbor walked over yesterday and gave me his workout machine.

He bought it a while ago with good intentions.

He used it for a few weeks.

Then it just sat in his house collecting dust.

Now it is sitting in my home gym area.

It is a nice piece of equipment.

It hits some good angles and isolates a few muscles quite well.

But I do not actually need it.

I will probably use it every now and then because it is there.

But my routine would not suffer if it disappeared tomorrow.

I have this habit of buying fitness equipment and confusing it with progress.

Ordering a new bench feels like building a stronger chest.

Buying a complex machine feels like finally fixing a skinny fat physique.

It provides a temporary dopamine hit.

Acquiring the tool feels like acquiring the result.

Then the dopamine wears off.

The excitement fades.

The machine just becomes a very expensive place to hang clothes.

I bought complexity when I really just needed consistency.

Fixing a skinny fat body is not about having access to 20 different machines.

It is about building the right proportions.

Widening the shoulders so the waist looks smaller.

Building the upper chest to create structure.

Developing the back to improve posture.

These things do not require a massive home gym.

They require a few core exercises done consistently over time.

When I add too many variables I lose sight of the fundamentals.

Bouncing from machine to machine hoping something magically works.

Lasting change comes from small and meaningful actions repeated weekly.

The neighbor machine is just a distraction.

A shiny object that promises an effortless shortcut.

The real work happens with the core exercises..

I focus on the core movements that actually change the shape of the body.

Everything else is just extra noise.

I put these core exercises into a short book called “The 161 Ratio: 90 Days To Greek God Proportions Discipline and Presence” specifically for overcoming the skinny fat phase.

It outlines the movements that build the right proportions.

No complex equipment required.

I've decided to make it available again to help you get ready for summer.

It is a simple framework built on lived experience and practical application.

The book and the audio version is $14.

When you pick it up you will also see an option to add the movement series.

These are 10 exercise videos showing the form for the fundamentals.

So you can learn the mechanics and move forward without second guessing your execution.

I am leaving this open for 1 week only.

If you want to strip away the noise and get back to what works.

You can get the book right here:
