Not every coaching is created equal. . Coaching teenagers on their career choice: major decision, several stakeholders, little experience with coaching . Coaching leaders who just lost their job: grieving process, severe lack of confidence, search for identity, financial commitments . Coaching pregnant women, coaching first-time managers, coaching entrepreneurs, all come with their own challenges and some would be heavier than others. . Some would demand that the Coach sharpens her/his saw with abundant practice. And having a safety net is not a luxury but a responsible choice. . Practice & Get support! . Enjoy coaching! . . Group coaching is so much more difficult than individual coaching. . Not sure? Just take this example: If you have an invidual client, you can ensure confidentiality as long as you keep everything confidential. If you have a group of clients, you wish to ensure confidentiality, but can you really ensure that everyone in the group will keep everything confidential? . I was really glad that this Coach reached out for his group coaching. We had a wonderful session and I'm thrilled by the energy he's found again. . Enjoy coaching! . . I plead guilty on this too... When I mentor Coaches, it so often is heartbreaking to hear everything that they went through on their own without asking for support. . As for every issue, the longer we let it unsettled, the more risk to have it escalates and harms us. . I remember struggling like hell with a coaching client, wanting to reach out to a supervisor for help and then not doing it thinking that it would be expensive. Ultimately, I reached out only later on and the total cost of repairing everything was much higher than the supervision fee... . Do have a support system, something like a regular supervision session scheduled every other month. That will allow clearing all pending issues while it is still manageable and saving you a lot of stress! . Don't waste opportunity to get support! . Enjoy coaching, . Amazing fragility and balance! . Sometimes in coaching we really walk on our tip-toes with our clients... When they find their balance in our coaching, there's something fascinating! . That's when I'm so grateful and feeling blessed as a Coach! . Glory to the Lord who created such amazing humans! . Enjoy coaching, . . Marianne, your coaching supervisor & mentor .
❓What if... ❓ . Marianne, I've a challenge... I doubt if I should refund the client." . What happened? Who is involved? What message will you induce if you do? . As a coaching supervisor, I've checked whether there was an ethical breach or professional mistake from the Coach side, I've shared some best practices from the coaching business perspective, I've supported the Coach on his well-being, his feelings around what happened and what needs to happen next and let him back reassured, determined to face the situation with courage and clear about what to change. . Frow worry to clarity... From procrastination to action... . Yet, it works so well also because that person is a brilliant Coach. Even brilliant Coaches have less glorious days in their practice... Me too! . Does that sound familiar to you? . . Enjoy coaching!, . Marianne, your coaching supervisor & mentor . .
I love sunsets... . Maybe not as much as my daughter with her 200 pictures of sunsets ??? . There's something so peaceful in sunsets... . And a grace I find in coaching too! . Who else likes sunsets? . Marianne, you coaching supervisor & mentor . .
Yes, we can coach everyone with our beautiful coaching tools and amazing coaching techniques! Yes, we would love to coach everyone! . Hmmh, wait a minute! Would you love to coach people you cannot understand thus needing to work with a translator every time? . Would you love to coach people who are not committed? . Would you love to coach people in the middle of the night? . Well... You may coach everyone, but you should not. . . Enjoy coaching! . . Marianne your coaching supervisor & mentor
So grateful for this Coach's kind words and testimonial! . A brilliant lady wondering if helping a client to calm down to avoid damaging relationship a work could be a coaching goal or need counselling. . We worked together on what could be done in coaching and where the limits are, how to help a client shape a goal and define what to explore deeper with the client. Off she went, enthusiastic about meeting her client again! . And when we followed-up, she was so relieved that all went well for the client and that she had seen this person progressing really well too. . So humbled as to what a single conversation with a coaching supervisor can do to get a Coach back on track and helping the client delivering great results! . Enjoy coaching! . . Another frequent behaviour that I see Coaches doing and I think will damage their practice: isolated coaching sessions to clock hours. . Some training providers sell a training workshop and "offer" a couple of coaching sessions on top of the workshop, then outsource these coaching sessions to other Coaches. . While the intention is great to reinforce the training concepts with coaching, the design itself could lead to not so wonderful results. . When we do not invoice coaching and offer it as a nice to have, are we doing justice to coaching? When we offer 1 or 2 coaching sessions, do we have enough time to provide a transformation? When we coach someone for 1 hour and never follow-up, is that truly coaching? . Same thing when we have 1 session peer coaching and never follow-up, is that truly coaching? . It helps to clock hours, but would that entice the person to hire you for more sessions? would that entice the person to refer you to someone? would that make you speak with passion about what you offer in coaching? . Reality is often a 'No' . Don't damage your coaching! . . Enjoy coaching, . Marianne your coaching supervisor & mentor . .
Which barriers do you need not to cross with your coaching? Which barriers do you want your clients not to cross? . I had so much work to do on that! What about you? Which is the most difficult barrier to enforce for you? . . Enjoy coaching! . Marianne your coaching supervisor
