Feeling bloated? It might be stress…

Happy Sunday, !
Ever notice how your stomach gets tight when you’re stressed? Or how stress seems to make bloating even worse?
It’s not just in your head!
The gut-brain connection is incredibly powerful. Your gut and brain are constantly communicating, and when you’re stressed, it can throw everything out of balance.
Here’s how it works:
Stress causes your body to go into “fight or flight” mode, releasing hormones like cortisol...
Which can slow digestion, mess with nutrient absorption, and even disrupt the balance of bacteria in your gut.
Over time, it can lead to bloating, irregularity, and even more serious gut issues.
So besides the million other reasons to manage your stress levels, your gut health is one more!
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
1. Deep breathing.
Just five minutes of slow, intentional breathing can calm your nervous system and relax your gut. Try this: inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4, and exhale for 4.
I like to do this before meals. It helps me slow down and eat mindfully.
2. Move your body.
Simple activities like walking, stretching, or yoga can lower cortisol and improve digestion at the same time.
3. Prioritize rest.
Poor sleep doesn’t just zap your energy—it can throw off your gut, too. Create an evening routine to help you unwind. Try reading, journaling, or taking a warm shower to signal it’s time to relax.
The best part? Just a few minutes a day can make a big difference.
Which one of these tips feels most doable for you? Hit “reply” and let me know—I’d love to hear what you’re trying!
Make it an amazing evening,
