Yes, the badges are on purpose 😉

Happy Tuesday, !

If you’re doing the Sleigh the Day December Challenge, you’ve already seen how motivating it can be to earn those Reindeer Badges for hitting your exercise, nutrition, and sleep goals.

One of the best ways to build consistency into your healthy habits is to make them more fun. I mean, obviously, right?

Besides the badges, I’ve got a few different ways you can do that, starting today.

This isn’t just feel-good stuff...

There’s actually some sneaky behavioral science at work!

Small rewards like badges, points, checkmarks, or streaks on a calendar help you stay consistent because:

✅ Positive reinforcement. Every time you complete a workout, walk, or hydration goal and see that little badge, point, or checkmark, your brain gets a dopamine hit. It’s basically your body’s way of saying, “That felt good, do it again.”

✅ Streaks. Once you’ve strung a few days together, you don’t want to break the chain. Even something as simple as checking off a calendar square can be enough to keep the streak alive. (Fun fact: Jerry Seinfeld used this exact method to build his writing habit.)

✅ Gamification. Here’s an example: turning foam rolling into a game shifts the story in your head from Ugh, I should... to let’s see how many sessions I can rack up this week. That small reframe makes healthy choices a lot more fun.

One way to do that: set up a mini challenge for yourself, where you work on getting stronger at an exercise, like push-ups, or enhancing a skill like cooking vegetables. This approach can make the activity more engaging and rewarding.

Set yourself a task or goal, create a deadline, and instant motivation!

So whether you’re collecting holiday-themed habit badges or just checking off boxes on your own calendar, the principle is the same:

Consistency gets easier when you celebrate the little wins.

Keep going. You’re doing great!

Make it an amazing evening,

Coach Lu
