I’ve launched the first chapter of Shade of the Kitsune on Royal Road and Patreon.
Patreon subscribers will be two weeks ahead of those on Royal Road. Once all chapters have been uploaded, you’ll also receive the complete ARC edition as an ebook.
About Shade of the Kitsune
Sold to an assassin clan, her blade will be why the country falls to its knees.
Shizu has trained all her life to be the ultimate weapon for the Hikage clan - a ninja clan hellbent on controlling the city.
With no memories of her past, Shizu aims to be the one to take down the Daimyo through any means necessary. Her first mission is to remove the one who betrayed her. Only that may be more difficult than she imagined when new plots arise and allies turn enemies. Samurai and shinobi both target her and will stop at nothing to prevent her from reaching the Daimyo.
Finishing a mission is difficult, but more so when you don't know where you belong. Shizu will cross paths with demonic creatures and humans alike as she uncovers who her true family is and who is her friend.
Using the art of espionage, killing, and creativity, Shizu will stop at nothing to obtain her goal. If she fails, it won't just be her head that she loses.
Around The Desk
I got sucked into a new anime this week that I’ve been watching while at work. It’s a romance anime called HoriMiya. It’s pretty digestible. Not a big fan of how some characters change who they are and faze out some of the fun quirks characters have as the series progresses as it feels like they’re not doing enough character development to account for it. I still enjoy it, but I don’t think it will be among my top favorites from this year I’ve watched.
On The Bookshelf
While I send out newsletters every week, I also follow a lot of other authors through their newsletters too. This week I got an email from brent Weeks about his latest book in the Night Angel series being available for preorder as a signed edition. So you bet I grabbed a copy for myself. Too bad it won’t be out until April.
