From the Editor's Desk:
I wasn't going to be writing this today. I thought I would be preparing to head to church for the Widows' Valentine's Day Luncheon, but due to extreme cold here combined with some ice and snow, we decided to postpone it until next week. So here I sit. I have the classical radio station playing and am thinking of all the things I'd like to do today though I know I won't get most of them even worked on. Oh well.
Weather Report:
As I mentioned, it's cold. As in 7º cold with a windchill of negative something. And it's been below freezing since Sunday. Sunday afternoon we had a freezing mist so church Sunday night was cancelled. We had freezing mist on Monday. And then on Tuesday through yesterday we had cold and snow. Not that the snow has stuck much. It has felt almost like we were in a snow-globe where the flakes of snow just kept swirling instead of actually landing and sticking.
Not sure if we'll have church tomorrow or not. It's supposed to be a high of 6º tomorrow. And we could get a few inches of snow. Next Friday it is finally supposed to be above freezing. 37º sounds warm now.
"Genius Burns":
Yep, the sparks of ideas kindled and now the flames are burning brightly. But not for "Lawrence & Lenexa". Nope. That story paused, and now I'm working on "Phil Wood" which is the next book in the Woodbreak series. And I have an idea for the next Woodbreak book. And an idea for . . . another Graham Quartet book! (But don't hold your breath for the GQ story since I will at least write "Phil Wood" and possibly the next book first.) It's been such fun to write 1-2 thousand words each day. Last week I wrote 7k words (all on "L&L") and I think I can get 500 words (or more) written today to reach 7k again. My ideas are growing, plots, twists, and all sorts of things are crowding in and I'm not sure what will happen in this story, but it's rather interesting. :)
Project Prognosis:
I have things ready for the Widows' Luncheon, but will have to wait.
Oh, I kind of forgot about cleaning out my Downloads folder. :P I mean I did work on it quite a bit, but I didn't finish it. I should work on that today.
I am also working on getting ready to teach Children's Church tomorrow (if we have church).
Blog posts are getting worked on and scheduled, and I'm working on getting some interview questions answered for another blogger who is going to do a spotlight about me next month.

If you've thought about getting Fanny's Hope Chest but haven't done so, today is the LAST DAY to get if for $.99. And if you want to join the fun, there is a Scavenger Hunt going on. Check it out HERE. Have fun!
Pre-order your copy today. It's worth it.
KDWC:
It was kind of strange when camp ended because it was so short. Our next camp is planned for the full month of April.
Babysitting:
We were supposed to babysit the kids on Tuesday, but alas the cold, the ice, and the snow prevented that. Hopefully next week.
Read Another Page Publishing:
I'm hoping to get some shorter stories published in the next few months. And perhaps "Phil Wood" will be ready to publish soon too.
Reading Challenge:
If you want to join my To Be Read reading challenge, there is still time. I've managed to read 11 books so far for the challenge. Since it doesn't end until the end of June, you have time. The challenge is to read 24 books, but you can earn points by reading just 4 or more books. And if you review those books you get more points. If you want to join, just let me know.
Book Nook:
If you were to check out my little reading corner, you would find that I've continued to read. My favorite books that I've read since I last shared are As the Heavens are Higher, Ella Pursued, and The U.S. Border Patrol. I am currently reading Partners by Grace Livingston Hill and enjoying it. What are you reading? I'd love to know.
Farewell:
Now my fingers are cold. Perhaps I should get my blanket (that I got for Christmas from the kids) and get cozy. There are many things I want to do today, and they all involve staying inside. I think we're all planning on staying home today. Dad was out this morning putting water in the birdbaths. He said it would be a good day for s'mores, but I'm not so sure. ;) Unless I had a fireplace and could do them inside.
Well, I hope you have a lovely weekend. Stay warm!
