Watch out for eagle activities 🦅 at Rustler’s Resort!

Voice recognition mistake of the day: “You said on the phone you were worried about Eagle activities at the hotel,” Jen prodded.
That’s from Book 5 in the Accidental Detective mystery series, which I started recently. It's tentatively titled Something Rotten at Rustler’s Resort, and they’re looking for illegal activities. Though eagles would make a surprising twist.
In the humorous Accidental Detective series, a witty journalist solves mysteries in Arizona and tackles the challenges of starting over in midlife. Have you read all three books out now? Would the paperbacks make great presents for a mystery lover you know? Find all the links to the series here.
Books are great gifts for humans, but Bear Bear and Panda recommend cozy blankets and hammocks for winter napping.
It’s never too early for holiday (or any time) shopping – or to stock up on books to read when hiding from bad weather or annoying family members!
The Felony Melanie: Sweet Home Alabama romantic comedy novels make a good gift for fans of the movie. You can visit the Amazon series page or the B&N page or find the links to other ebook retailers, if you know someone who would like them or want to grab your own copies.
Of Felony Melanie and the Prank War, a BookBub reviewer said, "What a fun story. If you loved Sweet Home Alabama, you are going to really enjoy this story. This book reminds me so much of the high school rivalry between the two schools in my small home town."
I went to New York recently for a writing meeting and to see many dear friends who were attending. I visited historic sites, did a food tour of Chinatown and Little Italy, took the Staten Island ferry, walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, and checked out this fairly new park on Little Island. Isn't it cool? It's near the southern end of the High Line, another cool park on an old elevated freight rail line that goes through Manhattan.
In other book news, my Accidental Billionaire Cowboys series launched this week! (I have accidental detectives and accidental billionaires. I'm accident-prone.)
Who wouldn't want to be a billionaire? Turns out winning the lottery causes as many problems as it solves. The Billionaire Cowboy’s Christmas is available in print or as an ebook, at various retailers.
When Josh Tomlinson’s Texas ranching family wins a fortune in the lottery, the formerly tight-knit family is suddenly on edge. Seeking advice, Josh reluctantly contacts family friend Carly Garza, now an attorney.
Carly’s crushed on Josh for years, but now his client and billionaire statuses put him firmly out of reach.
They’re already keeping the family’s lottery win a secret from the town. Can they also hide their budding romance during the most magical time of year?
Speaking of magical, here’s a recent New Mexico sunset:

Books on My Radar:
Memory Lane Beach Inn (Sunset Point Summer Romance Series Book 1), by Annie Diamond: "Recently divorced with a rebellious daughter, Olivia wants to begin again. When an old friend, Mary Lou, offers her a job as Head Chef at her seaside inn, Olivia eagerly accepts. The charming South Carolina beach town is a breath of fresh air—until Mary Lou disappears, and Charlie, a mysterious guest, takes her place. Both suspicious of Charlie and attracted to him, Olivia must uncover the truth about Memory Lane."
Under the name Jacob Love, my brother Doug writes humorous short stories featuring a small-town church, its pastor, and its congregation. Get these in paperback or send them as a Kindle gift for only $2 each! Or check out the other ebook options. These are great holiday presents for your elderly aunt (according to my elderly aunt).
He’s also the author of Totally Rad Wormhole: Two nerds from the eighties accidentally open a wormhole to today, go to their high school reunion, and meet their future selves. Horrified at what they’ve become, they set out to change their fate. Get the book on Amazon or in a variety of e-book formats on Smashwords.
Do you have young children in your life? (Or if you simply enjoy reading children's picture books, that's cool too!) This list from the Dear Author blog of Jayne’s Children’s Book List includes Baker and Taylor: The Mystery of the Library Cats, which sounds adorable, and other picture books.
For middle grade novels (ages 8-12) check out my children's books written as Chris Eboch at Amazon or Amazon UK (For other countries click here) or at B&N/Nook, Kobo, or iBooks.
