Cold as a frosted frog 🐸 in a cast-iron commode

Southernism of the Week: "Cold as a well-digger’s knee. Cold as a frosted frog. Cold as a cast-iron commode." That's how cold it was in Southern California when Kris visited Doug. We did get a few short breaks in the rain to get out walking though!
Kris was playing with an AI art maker and input "16-year-old blond girl Melanie is at a beauty pageant. She wears a fancy pink gown with a big, ruffled skirt and poofy shoulders." Style: "Cartoon Character." It came up with this treasure:
Find the Felony Melanie: Sweet Home Alabama romantic comedy novels.
For another LOL series with a retro vibe, check out Doug’s Totally Rad Wormhole: Two nerds from the eighties accidentally open a wormhole to today, go to their high school reunion, and meet their future selves. Horrified at what they’ve become, they set out to change their fate. Get the book on Amazon or in a variety of e-book formats on Smashwords.
Kris’s voice recognition mistake of the week: Apparently, to voice recognition software, "burrito" sounds a lot like "freedom," giving me a recipe for "breakfast freedom."
Reviews are coming in for Kris’s Accidental Detective humorous mystery series:
“This is a terrific series and I enjoy both the mystery storyline as well as the characters and their interactions.”
“I loved this story so much.”
“I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars.”
The Cluesletter is a biweekly newsletter for mystery lovers. Kris is featured in Cluesletter #39, along with a giveaway alert, event notice, article links, and "New Releases in Mystery."

Books on our radar:
Playing for Keeps: a limited edition sports romance collection: "When a curveball is thrown in the game of love these sports stars answer the call. In this limited edition sports romance collection, the stakes are high for each of these couples. Will they find their homerun in each other, or will they drop the ball on the field of love? Find out with these sports star romance series starters." Looks like about two dozen authors! Pre-order for $0.99.
All The Best Things: A sweet, small-town romance, by Linda Shantz: A review says, "Romance, horses, races, racetrack life, a great dog. What more could you want? You really get to know Emilie, an outgoing horse girl, and shy, introverted, hockey player Tim, [plus] the wonderful horses of Triple Stripe Farm and Holly the great black Lab. Emilie and Tim care about each other but can't seem to get things going in the right direction, keeping their feelings to themselves, getting in their own way. The more you get to know the people and horses, the better it gets."
Frozen Hearts, An Enemies-to-Lovers Sweet Rom-Com, by Ellie Hartwood: "Jo’s an uptight New York transplant. Jared’s a mountain man with a clingy husky named Petunia. He’s fire; she’s ice. He broke her heart. Now she’s back. When life forces them back together, old rivalries flare. Will Jo and Jared ignite a spontaneous combustion . . . or will love finally thaw their Frozen Hearts?" a sample / preview copy free with newsletter signup.
