Howdy, Sweet Home Alabama fans! We're almost done with book 2, Felony Melanie and the Big Smashup, and Kris got this voice recognition mistake: “Melanie turned the key again and again, but the car only responded with an annoyed wine.” Wouldn't it be nice if your car dropped you off along with a glass of wine?
Southernism of the Week: “He’s so narrow-minded, he can look through a keyhole with both eyes at the same time.”

Praise for Felony Melanie in Pageant Pandemonium: Thanks to a reader for this review: "Sweet Home Alabama is a favorite movie of, mine, and I enjoyed reading about the fictional adventures of the movie's characters as teenagers. The final chapters especially were real page turners.”
Rom Com Faves: While You Were Sleeping (1995) – This is the story of a lonely el train ticket taker with a secret crush on a stranger she sees every day. When she saves him from an assault that leaves him in a coma, an off-hand comment causes his family to believe they are a couple. And she… goes with it. If you think too hard about the premise, it’s all pretty implausible. But Sandra Bullock is at maximum charm and the chemistry between her and Bill Pullman (playing the injured man’s brother) saves it all. It’s sweet, funny, and moving – well worth suspending your disbelief. – Doug
