One of my readers sent me a picture of her two cats with my book cover on a Kindle behind them. If any of you have cats and are willing to do something similar, take a picture with my book cover, send it to me, and I’ll send you any of my books as a thank you. (See the book options here.)

If you haven't yet gotten your copy of my free novella, Lions and Love at the Cat Café, you can get it here. For “13 of the recipes mentioned in Kris Bock's Furrever Friends Sweet Romance series,” go here.

Cute of the Day: Check out the adorable young skunk doing a threat display in our back yard. All the videos linked together here are from the game camera in our back yard. The skunks come at night, so we rarely see them. Look at those fluffy tails!

Our ferrets, Bear Bear and Princess Pandemonium have been enjoying staying home in their sweatpants.

Pet News: Have you ever considered being a pet foster? "Foster a pet for 2-6 weeks and you won’t just be saving a life. You’ll be bringing home a furry stress-relieving friend to keep you company while you’re social distancing." At Greater Good, you can fill out a form and they'll connect your information with a shelter in your area.

Voice recognition mistake of the day: Okay, when voice recognition hears "mystery for dogs" instead of "mystery for adults," is it trying to suggest a new series idea?

Mistake of the day, from a friend: “We like to listen to frogs as we go to sleep. Tonight my hubby asked our 'smart' device to play frog sounds, as usual, but instead it gave us fart sounds. Not nearly as relaxing, I have to say.”

These adorable bobcat kittens were at some friends’ house near Albuquerque. They said, “This was at sunset and Mama was out and about hunting. A neighbor saw her carrying a rabbit a little later. She probably put them up on the wall to keep them safe while she roamed the neighborhood. They stayed up here for about an hour before it got dark and they jumped down - presumably to eat.”

The photo is by Jasmine Tritten, author/illustrator of Kato's Grand Adventure, an adventure story written from the perspective of lost kitten. It's recommended for readers 9 and up, or for adults to read aloud to younger kids.

Good Deed of the Day: The Clear The Shelters Fund helps animal shelters nationwide. “During the summer months, shelters and rescues experience a rise in intakes due to spring kitten and puppy season. It can be especially difficult to feed and care for all of the pets that come through their doors while trying to operate and provide services to their community during these difficult times.”

"I cannot express how much the GreaterGood.org donations helped us with this. Placing so many shelter pets in foster and providing our fosters with all of their supplies can be a huge strain on the shelter. With the donations, we have been able to keep up with the needs." - Stephanie Strowbridge, Foster Coordinator and Animal Care Technician of Humane Society of West Michigan

Cute of the day: Bored Quarantined Owners Have Started Building Cardboard Forts For Cats. I'm not sure I'm inspired to build one, but these are pretty funny. (Be prepared for some bad language written on some.)
