Voice-recognition confusion of the day: “Headcheese adjusted and alter Route.” I won't even make you try to guess. It was supposed to be: “Had she suggested an alternate route....”
I got some nice reviews from bloggers during the Something Shady at Sunshine Haven blog tour! “A great start to a new series... I really liked Kate – she was relatable no matter where you are in life, but especially for those who have aging parents, complicated sibling relationships, and/or sudden life changes. The mystery was nicely plotted and kept me turning the pages... Readers will enjoy this new cozy mystery and eagerly wait for more sleuthing with Kate and the Coffee Shop Irregulars! My Rating: 4 stars / loved it!” 🤩 – read the full review from MeezCarrie at Reading Is My SuperPower.

Speaking of cute, here’s everyone’s favorite ferret pair, looking like they should be painted on a chapel ceiling.
We're well into summer in New Mexico, so it's hot and has been smoky lately. The cacti and succulents are happy though. Here's a prickly pear with buds that will become fruits! You can pick the ripe fruits (carefully) and make a syrup to add to margaritas or sparkling water.
If you need a new summer recipe try this easy New Mexico Grilled Cheese Recipe. Adding refried beans and chili peppers to grilled cheese makes this “comfort food” a bit healthier. The beans keep the filling creamy, so you don’t need as much cheese.
