Hi ,

As this year draws to a close, I'm looking at planning the year ahead.

Last month's giveaway winner is Helen at hj ... 03 at att dot net. If this is you, you should have received your gift card by now.

Revisions of The Lost Assassin are taking longer than I had hoped. I probably won't be able to get ARCs out until the end of the month, but I should still be able to publish early January as planned.

I'm still working on finding a time to work with my friend to start producing audiobooks, but it will probably be sometime next month at this point.

Next year, I'm hoping to publish 3-4 books. The Lost Assassin is scheduled for January. Then I have Once upon a Betrothal and Princess of Hope that weren't far off when I set them aside to work on The Lost Assassin. I have a couple projects I'm leaning toward for the possible 4th book for the year, but I haven't decided just yet.

I recently signed up for an email marketing course and I have a lot of content to get through before I can make any big changes. But I already know that the course recommends weekly emails which is a more frequent schedule than the 1-2 emails a month I've been sending. Since I don't want to force any of you into a drastic change like that, I'll be segmenting my email. Anyone new after I make this change will be on the weekly schedule. But anyone current will only switch over to weekly if you indicate you're interested in it. The survey below has that and a few other questions.

For this month's giveaway of a $5 Amazon gift card, fill out this quick survey.

Sales, Freebies, and/or New Releases

The Lost Assassin is available for the preorder price of $0.99, but it will be in KU when it releases, but it'll be going up to full price after release day.

If you check out the first book promo below, you can get my Once upon a Story Omnibus for free. So if you are missing any of my first 3 books: Once upon a Shoe, Once upon a Silent Song, and Once upon a Rose, then you should claim it before Christmas while it's free through BookFunnel.

This isn't my book, but an author I love, K.M. Shea, has a free book for a couple more days. Her book, Princess Ahira is a standalone book that's shorter than most of her books, but it's well worth reading.

Another book I know about will have a heavy discount starting tomorrow. Axl Blaze's box set Zoe Calloway and the Temporal Tides will be available for only $3.99 starting December 7th. I'm not sure exactly how long it's running, but since Axl mentioned it as a KDP promotion, I'm guessing it's probably for the week, but sooner is better if you're interested. I haven't read this yet, but it looks interesting.

Writing Snippet from Once upon a Rose

His emotions were jumbled and he couldn’t come up with a coherent response before she told him, “Please leave. I want to be alone.”

As he left her in the room in a sorrowfully pensive state, he thought to himself that he had never seen her, or anyone else, as more beautiful. He reflected on the fact that while Lucia had been gorgeous on the outside, it had been her essence that he had truly thought perfect.

He imagined the ghost of his sister telling him that this girl was the one who should be his mate, his queen. And that he was the worst kind of fool to walk away from her for any reason. Lucia would expect him to fight to keep someone like Belle, and nothing would make a good enough excuse in her eyes for him to give up.

He smiled at his imaginings. Surprisingly, he was able to think of Lucia without the guilt and with only a minimal amount of pain. He doubted he would ever be able to get over the pain of her loss, but something about Belle’s words had reminded him that everything he’d suffered, including Lucia’s death, was all part of Arastea punishing him for his rejection.

He decided to give Belle some space for now, but for the first time, he was actively considering her as more than just a means to break his curse. He just didn’t know in what capacity he wanted it to be exactly. In his mind, he promised Lucia that he was only taking time to sort out his feelings and come up with a plan.

Book Recommendations

imagePrincess Ahira by KM Shea

Ahira isn’t a typical princess. When she’s kidnapped by dragons on her sixteenth birthday she declares it the best thing that has ever happened to her. No more etiquette lessons!

Assigned to a powerful but extremely messy dragon named Azmaveth, Ahira soon makes friends with the magical creatures around her new home. Even cleaning up after Azmaveth and putting up with with his failed magic experiments isn’t too bad, until he forces her to work with his human steward, Kohath.

Kohath is a piece of work. His bossy attitude combined with his lack of personal space makes him the most infuriating male Ahira has ever met. He’s also hiding a huge secret.

But war is looming with the Valkyrie, and not even the dragons are immune to political maneuvering. A surprise betrayal breaks Ahira’s heart and sends her packing back to her old home. If she does nothing she’ll never see Azmaveth, Kohath, or the rest of her magical friends again. Happily ever afters don’t come easy, but this princess just might be willing to fight for hers.

imageTaking Medusa by S.M. McCoy

My blood can cure death, but it can also be the deadliest poison on Earth, and the gods will try to kill me just for existing. Hades wants me to join him. Zeus is still bitter about an age-old prophecy that the dark gods, the monsters of Tartarus, will rule Olympus. And Poseidon is the key to everything, maybe even my heart, but his son, Triton, rules Atlantis, and I accidentally killed his daughter, Coraline.

All I know for certain is the gods have mistreated us ‘monsters’ long enough, and I’m yanking through the ribbons of fate to change my history before I’m beheaded all over again.

My name is Alessandra, most call me Aless, and I had no idea my family was more than just superstitious, they were hiding me from the gods, and lying about who I was.

I was Medusa.

And now that the gods have found me… I’m destined to die.

Using current known Greek myths as we know them and retelling them from Medusa’s perspective. After all, history is written by the victors, and the bards got the story all wrong. Poets were influenced by the reigning Olympians, and Medusa still lives in Florida after convincing her over protective mom to let her go to college. Her previous life was erased from memory so the gods wouldn’t find her, but fate has a way of repeating itself, and the sea is calling for her return.

A paranormal myth and legends adventure romance that will have you flipping pages well past your bedtime to know what happens next as the dark gods rise up and prove being a hero is a matter of perspective.

Ishtar's Blade by Lisa Blackwood image

The court of the gryphon king has ever been a dangerous and seductive place where Ishtar’s blessing is both the hot breath of passion and the cold kiss of steel.

Yet as the childhood companion of King Ditanu, Iltani never doubted her place in either his kingdom or his heart. Then duty called her away to complete her training.

Now, a woman grown and a sword-maiden to the goddess Ishtar, Iltani returns and takes up her sacred destiny to protect the royal line. But so much has changed.

Ditanu most of all.

The youth she knew is gone. A stoic, untouchable king now sits the throne.

Does anything of their once deep bond survive?

Iltani must swiftly find her place in a court where cunning governors plot treason, trusted advisors orchestrate deceptions, and noblewomen seek to beguile King Ditanu using methods both fair and foul.

But the greatest threat of all is no mortal adversary. Ereshkigal, the Queen of the Underworld, desires to make Ditanu her consort and seize his kingdom for her own.

Ishtar's Blade is a fantasy romance loosely based on ancient Sumerian and Akkadianmythology. It's book 1 of the Ishtar's Legacy series.

Two women, one gilded hotel mirror, four lives forever changed.

Kathleen

I went to sleep last night, a contented middle-aged woman, quite happily married to my nice, gentle, vanilla husband of twenty years. I wake up, a girl in her twenties, with supermodel looks, and married to a Dom. Yes, you heard that right — a Dom. As in BDSM. I experience being blindfolded and my body is used in ways it has never known before. Spanking? Bondage? Mind-blowing orgasms? Check, check, check

Maybe this is a dream, but if it is? it sure is going on for an awfully long time!

The question is: do I want to wake up?

Alexis

When I went to sleep last night, I was a twenty-five-year-old woman in a passionate marriage with the hottest man I’ve ever met. When I woke up I’m about twenty-five years older, and in bed with a man who is definitely not my hot-as-hell husband. He’s much older than me and he’s snoring!

What the body swapping, voodoo hell? If this is a dream, I wanna wake up. Now!

But as time passes, this new life is rich in so many ways that I may want to linger a while.

We both learn things about ourselves, and our relationships, that we never thought we needed to know. If the time comes that we go back to our old lives, will our new knowledge put an end to the marriages we once thought were perfect? Or will our experiences enrich our relationships immeasurably.
