Hi ,
I can't believe it's already November. This year has flown by for me. We had our first snow last week and it's snowing again as I'm writing to you. My daughter is already talking about setting up our Christmas tree. Knowing that I always say we will wait until after Thanksgiving, she's threatening to wake me up at midnight that Friday, lol.
Last month, many of you guessed that horror isn't a favorite genre for me. The random winner of the drawing is Cindy at wri ... 1 at yahoo dot com. If this is you, you should have received your gift card by now.
I have a decent chunk written on The Lost Assassin, so I should be moving on to revisions before I talk to you again. Since the cover is done, it's now available for preorder. What do you think of this cover?
I haven't gotten anything done on the audiobook front. I'm still working on setting up a time that works to start recording with the friend I mentioned last time.
For this month's giveaway of a $5 Amazon gift card, hit reply and tell me what do you love most about the winter season? For me, I'd have to say that it's all the pumpkin stuff. I love pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice lattes and really anything pumpkin.
Sales, Freebies, and/or New Releases
The Lost Assassin is now available for preorder at $0.99. It will be in KU when it releases, but it'll be going up to full price after release day.
Writing Snippet from Once upon a Silent Song
She scoffed, unable to resist. It was ridiculous that he actually expected her to obey—as if he thought this solar’s events and the lives she saved were nothing but a child’s tantrum.
He continued as if he did not hear her, “You will go along with the story I tell our people. The males forced you to use your Voice against orders. They were behind it all and you were naive. My soft-hearted daughter could not stand the idea of them hurting Sirens who she cared for, so she broke her vows in a misguided attempt to protect others.”
“I will never go along with that!” She attempted to shout but only managed an almost normal volume. The burning in her throat flared up with the attempt.
He grinned maniacally. “Yes, you will. And you will watch their punishments for their crimes without any show of emotion. Because if you do not, then you will watch an execution instead of mere lashings.”
Giveaways and Promotions
Only a couple days left for this one.
This one starts November 20th

Footsteps into the Unfamiliar by Kate Haley
From an age where clashing gods reshaped the land with fire, to a time when new wars threatened all of existence, these collected works explore the world of the War of the North Saga through conflicts recent and ancient. Heroes are born, villains are shaped, and the age of gods and men builds. Here, the Great War begins…
We all wept when my brother died. We wept and howled, and I cursed the Moon.
Maybe that’s why I’ve been so tortured.
My parents held me back to keep me safe. “ Yaz, you can’t do this. Yaz, you can’t go there,” all so I wouldn’t suffer the same fate as my brother.
They were right, because when I finally went out into the world, I soon found myself trapped in a dark abyss with a hunter named Ezra. That’s right…our mortal enemies. While his penetrating eyes seethed with hatred, I was blinded by compassion. And what we found was that we had more in common than either would admit, not to mention the unavoidable attraction I felt for him physically. He was brash and arrogant yet tall and unbelievably handsome. His chiseled physique and brooding intensity made him impossible to ignore.
He was a warrior, but as we looked up at the impossible height, we were forced to begin a treacherous journey together to get back to our people. I took care of him because he was injured, but I knew deep down there might be more to it than that.
I hated him, and he hated me. It was the way of things, it was destiny. And yet sometimes destiny can change. Sometimes desire can be cursed. And our every decision will have consequences back home…even if everything feels right in the moment.
But it’s a law of the universe that a hunter and a wolf can never fall in love…
…right?
The Enchanted Frost by Camille Peters
It is his duty to claim her frozen soul—he never expected to instead obtain her heart.
After her fall from grace, Blanche's life has been one of struggle and misery that eventually meets its expected end when she freezes to death in an abandoned alley. But before she fully succumbs, she is instead taken to the snowy realm of the winter king, ruled by a handsome yet enigmatic being whose duty is to claim her frozen soul, a responsibility he has performed since time began.
Frost has spent his eternal existence in his kingdom of ice, using his powers to maintain the delicate balance of the seasons, a forever that has remained unchanging...until his magic inexplicably fails to capture one of the souls his cold has claim to, trapping her between life and death. Despite her harsh past, Blanche is somehow different than the other mortals that he's observed from a distance, and Frost finds himself drawn to her...especially when a mysterious connection from their past emerges.
As Frost and Blanche work together to help her move on, mortal and immortal being find their worlds shifting the closer they become as hearts previously frozen soften with the warmth of their deepening feelings for one another. Yet this forbidden relationship sets off a series of events as Frost's power over winter inexplicably begins to diminish, jeopardizing the balance of the world and the fate of all in it. Will this connection threaten to dethrone the King of Winter as well as interrupt the delicate cycle of seasons that Earth requires, or is love a powerful enough force to reweave the fabric of existence?

The Fairy Assassin by K.N. Fray
A grounded fae. A conflicted dragon. An inescapable bond.
Assassin and fae, Lacey plays by the rules. When fellow assassin, Chloe, disappears, Lacey’s creator sends her on a mission to gather intel and recover the vampire. Much to Lacey’s dismay, dragon shifter August is also sent along to watch her.
August was many things, but a babysitter wasn’t one of them. He doesn't like that he has to be responsible for one of the director's creations. But it doesn’t take long for him to start to see the fae in a new light as their bond forms.
As their adventure leads to a strong desire for freedom to truly spread her wings, Lacey must make a difficult decision when she finds Chloe-does she turn her in, or use her knowledge to gain her own freedom to be with August?
