I've made reasonable headway on The Lost Assassin this month, though not as much as I'd like. Hopefully, by this time next month, I'll be done with the first draft so I can start on the revisions that really shape a book into something to be proud of.

I've sent out an email to everyone who said they wanted to help with audiobook production. A friend is going to let me use her equipment, so I should be able to get a lot of work done on that front in the near future.

I've recently switched universal link providers and updated all of my links at the bottom of the page. Books2Read wouldn't let me use all of the links I wanted to add, so it was time for a change.

Writing Snippet from Once upon a Shoe

As the night came to a close, she danced with Aeden for the last time. “So, how do you think you did? Have you been forgiven?” Ella questioned him.

“Unfortunately so.” Aeden sighed despondently. “The problem is that now they all hope I will choose them as my bride, despite the fact that I am not favoring any of them.”

She released a breath she hadn’t realized she was holding. “Maybe you should just choose someone and get it over with,” Ella suggested doubtfully. She had no better ideas. “Then everyone else will give up, cry out their disappointment, and accept that they aren’t your choice.”

“Absolutely not. You know I’m not ready for that.” She would have thought his look of horror was comical if she were unaware of the true distress behind it.

Ella sighed. “I know. Unfortunately, there is no easy solution here, Aeden. Like it or not, you are the crown prince. Those girls just want to secure what they consider their best possible future.” She noticed he was about to protest and prevented his attempt. “I am not saying that I agree with it or support it in any way, but it is how things are. You can either make a choice quickly to make everyone else give up or you can deal with their efforts to win your affection. Those are the only options I see. By all means, if you know of a better way, then tell me.”

“What if you—” Aeden started, but Ella interrupted him.

“Don’t even go there again, Aeden.” She scowled at him. “You are my best friend, but even I am unwilling to deal with the drama of being your pretend choice until you finally pick somebody else. There are few things I would be unwilling to endure for you, but this is one of them.”
