Hi ,
I can't believe it's already May. This year's been flying by. Last month I wasn't able to travel to see the eclipse at it's best, but it was still pretty cool to watch from home either way. Did you manage to see it? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
The winner of last month's giveaway is Ami at am...3 at gmail . com. If this is you, you should have already received your gift card for the giveaway.
Since it was unanimous that Amazon gift cards are desired, I will keep those as my primary prize, but I will also be trying to add in some of the other prizes to keep things interesting.
Editing for Princess of Hope is coming along, albeit slowly. I'm still weighing some book cover options for it. The rough draft is available on my Ream page as one of the subscription perks for anyone who's interested.
Once upon a Shoe, is no longer in KU. For my wide readers, it'll be available soon in other stores and on my Ream page. The link should update as each store becomes available. My omnibus for my first three books will be leaving KU on the 19th. So make sure to download it before then if you want to read it for free in KU.
The designer for my new Once upon a Story covers, SpacePyratChica, has recently finished the cover for Once upon an Isle of Treasure.
What do you think?
My plan for this book is that I will still keep it free for newsletter subscribers. But, I intend to put it up for sale wide as well with a note that it is free for subscribers. Since I just got this cover, I haven't had a chance to update the BookFunnel download to include it yet, but I'll be working on that in the coming week.
I've dusted off my WIP for Once upon a Betrothal and I'm currently evaluating how far I got and what I still need to write. I know it was pretty close to finished before, so I will probably be able to get that published some time this year.
For this month's giveaway for a $5 Amazon gift card, hit reply and tell me which of my books you want as a free gift for my birthday next month. It can be anything other than The Fox Assassin because it's already scheduled in a countdown promotion for June.
Sales, Freebies, and/or New Releases
Last month, I released Once upon a Seamstress on Amazon and it's currently available in KU. If you purchased the Under the Rainbow anthology a while back, this is the same story I included in the anthology. It is currently the only FF romance and my shortest book.
Writing Snippet from Once upon a Betrothal
Eli laughed darkly. “I’m all for optimism, but that’s a little too unrealistic. We mix about as well as oil and water. Let’s face it, my life will be one constant battle after I’m wed. If it wouldn’t lead to war, I would have broken the engagement long ago. But Mom and Dad are convinced that if it’s broken on our side that the East Tieryans will be up in arms over the rejection. So unless you have any ideas on how to make her call it off, then can we please just drop the subject? I look forward to spending a few lunars enjoying my freedom and avoiding any thoughts of my betrothed or the future.”
“I’m with Brent. Surely, she can’t be as bad as you think,” Matt said. “I mean, from all your stories about her, I already know you act like the worst version of our culture when you’re around her. Which clearly is nothing like you. So, it stands to reason that she could be behaving differently than her usual as well. Was there ever a time you got along?”
“Sure,” Eli laughed, “When we were infants and didn’t know any better.”

Pure Power by Nicholas Woode-Smith
I can heal anyone…
But not if they’re already dead.
I’ve been a magical healer of Heiligslicht, the top healing guild in Hope City, ever since they saved me from the streets of this darkness infested hellscape. That was eleven years ago.
In all that time, you’d think I would have gotten used to losing a few patients. But I never did.
Now, after losing the most important man in the world to me, I’ve had enough. It’s time to take the fight to the demon who took him from me.
But demon hunting isn’t easy. I’m going to need a mentor. And a team. And who better than a hotter than hell pyromancer and his band of misfits to teach me the ropes?
I don’t know if I have what it takes to make it as a monster hunter. But I’m sure as hell going to give it my best shot.
Or die trying…
My name is Cindy Giles. Healer. Purifier. Monster Hunter.

A failed assassination attempt against Lianna prompted Alastor to act and perform a grievous ritual to tap onto the power of the Void, the dark forces beyond the universe. Has he betrayed his friends and family to gain power? Can Lianna stop Alastor before it’s too late? Will she and Ludovic be able to save the world from the evil warlock he has become? What if it was all just a lie?
