Hi ,

The winner of last month's giveaway is Carrie at pix . . .13 at gmail dot com. If this is you, you should have received your gift card by now.

I'm nearly done with all the developmental edits for Princess of Hope. I took a step back for a moment to solidify my plot for the rest of the series. I just need to double check that I've included all the foreshadowing I want to include, then I can move on to the technical side of editing. I started working on a the world map. Hopefully, I can share it with you in the next newsletter. Given my current progress and the expected work, I am tentatively planning on a release date of October 3rd. Hopefully, this will allow me to give my ARC team a full month to read before it comes out.

Since this series is so different from my Once upon a Story series, I'm debating on how I want to approach the release. Kindle Unlimited hasn't been great for me as an author which is why I switched to the strategy of only keeping my most recent book in KU. However, that won't work well with this new series. All of my other books have been written with the intention that you can pick up any book, regardless of the order in the series.

The Divine Artifacts series will be something that starts with Princess of Hope, but it must be read in order. So I'm considering a few options. 1. I might start wide and wait until book 7 is out before putting the entire series into KU for at least 3 months. 2. I could avoid KU altogether. 3. I could put Princess of Hope into KU until my next release, but avoid putting the rest of the series in KU. 4. Maybe there's a strategy I'm not thinking of.

Since I'm undecided, I created a Google form to get your feedback. To enter this month's giveaway, let me know your thoughts by filling out the Google form.

Tomorrow, I'll be doing a takeover event in the Kingdom of Fairytales Facebook group. Please join me if you have the time. I'll be giving away a free signed copy of Once upon a Shoe.

imageA Crown of Deceit & Ruin by Jessica Willis

Two daughters — one of loss and love, the other of vengeance and darkness — drawn together by the hands of fate.

For nineteen years, Kestrel Graeme has been locked away in a tower, fed stories of cursed beasts and corrupted magic. But when she escapes, she discovers the real threat isn’t monsters—it’s the royals who rule through lies and bloodshed. Captured and taken to Irongate, Kestrel must fight for her father’s life and master the strange magic awakening inside her…before it’s twisted into a weapon by the very crown she’s come to fear.

But she’s not the only prisoner behind Irongate’s fortified walls. Slain in battle and resurrected years later, Princess Elora has spent her second life in chains. Promised a throne but given a leash, she’s ordered to keep Kestrel close and steer her toward breaking the curse. Elora will play her part…but only if it brings her the one thing she truly craves: freedom.

Monsters still haunt the realm, but Kestrel and Elora refuse to be their prey. If they want a future beyond the ruins they inherited, they’ll have to wield the power within them—before their kingdoms crumble.

A Crown of Deceit & Ruin is a slow-burn sapphic fantasy romance perfect for fans of fairy tale retellings, dark magic, and star-crossed fates—featuring an idealistic Rapunzel-esque runaway with the heart of a hero, a distrusting princess of death, enemies-to-lovers tension, courtly intrigue, sapphic/bi longing, found family, ancient curses, and the dangerous temptation of forbidden power.

imageGilded Locks by Julene Johnson

A Rogue returned in need of unmasking. A dangerous magic in need of containing. Her town and her heart hang in the balance.

Grace Robbins knows the truth about the Rogue, Fidara’s dead rebel, and she’d planned for years to take up the fallen green mantle. Mayor Nautin’s taxes have devastated lives and laid waste to an already struggling town. But life, and legends, have taught Grace that even if she could survive rebellion on her own, such blatant defiance would put at risk secrets she must keep. Secrets she must protect.

When Grace glimpses a figure in green dashing into Sherwood Forest, the past collides with the present. Someone has revived the legend she’d abandoned. Grace sees an opportunity to prove herself a true Protector: unmask the rebel and convince him to hang up the cloak. But the identity of this new Rogue isn’t as obvious as Grace hoped.

The mysterious man has no intention of ending his rebellion, and the more Grace tries to change his mind, the more she remembers how it felt to desire to fight for the people, and how it felt to truly be seen by someone who believes in her.

How can Grace defend Fidara and its people against mystic treasure if she joins the new Rogue? But how can she stand by while her people suffer unjustly?

Can she trust a man who guards his identity so jealously? Grace doesn’t know if her heart will survive the choices she must make.

Gilded Locks is a reimagining of "Goldielocks" and "Robin Hood." Sneak through Sherwood Forest and discover who is just right in this fairytale romance, part of the All That Glitters series—a collection of twelve books brimming with Tales of Treasure and True Love. Each book is written by a different author and can be enjoyed in any order, so pick a new favorite and discover that not all that glitters is gold.

imageDiamond Wishes by Abigail Manning

A mute guard, a chatty parrot, and a diamond ring that could change it all...

Few people have heard the legend of the wondrous wishing diamond, and even fewer have wasted their efforts searching for it. Kya couldn’t care less about jewels unless they can sell for enough money to feed her and her mouthy parrot. Her chronic fainting spells make it impossible to hold down a real job, and difficult to escape the guards when a charming stranger interrupts her heist.

Caught and caged, Kya admits defeat as she wastes away in the palace prison. Not even befriending a royal guard can get her out of her chains, but a deal with a smooth-talking nobleman might... It would seem that the boy from the market isn’t the only person on a diamond hunt.

If anyone can find a diamond ring in a cave full of treasures, it’s a jewel thief, but that doesn’t mean she knows how to use it. Wishes gone wrong and a power struggle between royals quickly trap Kya once again, but this time as a fake princess. Even a counterfeit diamond can sparkle, but can it fool a treasure hunter? Life as a royal sure does have a nice ring to it—if you can live long enough to wish for a crown.

Diamond Wishes is a standalone, no-spice, fairy retelling and is a part of the series "All That Glitters." A collection of 12 treasure-themed fairy tale retellings full of adventure, romance, and glittering gold.

Survival means obeying orders without question, but the fire in her heart refuses to be extinguished.

Everything changes when a new prisoner is thrown into the brig—a dashing sailor named Harlan, whose defiance matches Elena’s own. Their connection is immediate, but the captain’s daughters are just as captivated by Harlan’s charm. As a forbidden romance kindles in the darkness of their confinement, Elena dares to dream of freedom once more.

But danger looms when another pirate with sinister intentions wants to buy Elena. Now burdened with a secret that could change the course of history, Elena must decide how far she’s willing to go to protect Harlan and herself.
